The La Lucia Baby House Celebrates 4 Years and 19 Adoptions
Just recently The Baby House has been selected as one of the 2017 CEO SleepOut’s secondary beneficiaries. The CEO SleepOut is a National movement calling for schools and businesses to host a SleepOut in an effort to collect goods for the selected charities. Chandre from CEO Sleepout said: “We are pushing to get as many registrations for the SleepOut events as possible so that La Lucia Baby House can receive as much as possible from Schools, Companies, and other groups.” The KZN Ambassador for the CEO School SleepOut is Alexandra Theocharopoulos from Ashton College in Ballito, and the school has organised their School SleepOut on the 23rd of June. Alexandra is encouraging other schools to do the same, as a way to collect donations for The Baby House.
There are many ways you can get involved at The La Lucia Baby House, whether it’s volunteering time to spend with the babies, collecting donations and food, or registering as a Breastmilk Donor for babies relying on breastmilk to thrive. The La Lucia Baby House Milk Bank is always looking for donors. Donor mom, Cathryn Aylett, has volunteered her time to assist any moms, wanting to donate, through the registration and screening process. There is an online registration form that you will find at www.babyhouse.org.za. Cathryn will also come to your home to collect your extra milk, and she is available to contact on firstname.lastname@example.org.
A huge thank you must go out to the community of Durban for their continued support of The Baby House, as their team continues to see hope in the lives of babies moving from abandonment to adoption.
