Exciting line-up changes on ECR

East Coast Radio’s listeners can look forward to an exciting new lineup on weekday evenings and over the weekends, as from Monday 31 July.

Popular personality Thandolwethu will be taking over the East Coast Urban reigns (weekdays 6pm-9pm) from Bongani, who was recently announced as the new Drive time co-host together with Mags. Fun filled and diva-loving Ricky moves to East Coast Love Songs, weekdays from 9pm to midnight, while Durban born and bred Sbu will inform and entertain listeners weekdays between 4am-6am.

East Coast Radio Programming Manager Zane Derbyshire says while he believes that consistency fosters relationships between the station’s presenters and listeners, he is confident with the changes they’re making, “I am very pleased with the way in which the changes will enhance the entertainment offering from the station. Most notably Thandolwethu moves to East Coast Urban and Ricky moves to East Coast Love Songs straight after that. This will provide compelling listening and exciting content to our evening audience. Sbu makes his debut on the weekday line up from 4-6am.”

Derbyshire adds that the weekend will see a fairly big shake up, “Gordon Graham, a former Algoa FM Drive show presenter is taking over Weekend Breakfast and rising stars Lubz and Erin will host our weekend 2pm-6pm show. Danny Guselli graduates from weekend overnights to 9pm to midnight on the weekend and Deon Govender adds an extra show a week to his bill and will now also host our SA music show, #PlayLocal.”

Another change that listeners can look forward to is the introduction of extended traffic reports during the week, starting Monday 31 July. Sindi Myeza will present East Coast Radio Traffic every 15 minutes between 5.30am and 9am. Jayshree Parasuramen will keep drivers up to date every hour between 9.30am and 3.30pm, while JVB will bring listeners updates every 15 minutes between 4.00pm and 6.00pm. Apart from on air, traffic updates will also happen live on Twitter (follow @JVBTrafficGuy for updates) and if listeners miss the live report on air, it’ll be available minutes later on the East Coast Radio app, by tapping on the traffic light image in the top left hand corner of the screen.
