Summer in South Africa…  braais, laying by the pool, picnics with friends. And a glass of wine, obviously.

We’re rather fond of KWV, and firmly agree with their belief that when it comes to drinking wine, there should be no steadfast rules. What is important is that you drink your wine your way, and that you have fun finding your wine of choice.

Here are three easy and delicious poolside drinks.

KWV Classic’s Pink Drink with Red Muscadel – If you’re looking for a light, refreshing, perfect poolside drink then pour yourself the new summer drink-of-choice – the KWV Classic Muscadel Pink Spritzer. Pour one-part KWV Classic Red Muscadel in a tumbler with one-part Fitch & Leedes Soda, add lots of ice, garnish as you would like –  and then, simply enjoy.  It’s the perfect accompaniment to your best dishes, and a drink perfect for a beautiful South African sunset.
KWV Classic’s Rosé Sangria – Rosé is a popular wine of choice during the summer months.  It’s clean, crisp, cold, easy to make and, most importantly, delicious.  Have a little bit of fun in the sun and entertain with a jug of Rosé sangria. Put your fruits (nectarines, strawberries and oranges work well), KWV Classic Rosé and 1 table spoon of castor sugar in a large jug and stir to combine. Leave in the fridge for an hour to chill, then top up with sparkling water with mint leaves to serve. Simply Classic!
KWVs Classic’s Chilled Pinotage – For a great alternative this summer, why not reach for a chilled red wine!  A colder temperature makes the wine juicier.  Some red varietals are an excellent answer to the perfect wine for an afternoon braai on a hot summers day. Chill a bottle of KWV Classic Pinotage and pair it with meats such as lamb, or charred seafood dishes.
