Beauty & Fashion
Let’s face it, North Coast women are severely spoilt for choice when it comes to beauty salons and spas. But, while many offer quick in-and-out solutions, every now and then you come across one that makes you want to stay a little while longer, have a cup of tea and just breathe. Fraiche is one such place.
Walking through the lush, perfectly manicured gardens of the Izulu Office Park, the quiet, resort-style setting is reminiscent of idyllic getaways far from the hum-drum of daily life. And where better to position a spa that offers a range of treatments all designed to allow you to unwind and feel good about yourself?
Owned by health and skin care therapist Nicole de Ricquebourg, Fraiche was originally based at The Quarter where it has grown rapidly in popularity over the past three years. “I wanted to create a beautiful relaxing environment where clients could come enjoy beauty treatments as well as advanced Aesthetic treatments with professional, qualified therapists,” says Nicole.
And when it comes to her therapists, Nicole certainly delivers on her promises. You can’t help but feel comfortable and at home from the moment you are greeted by bubbly therapist Michele Nicholson. Michele is knowledgeable about the products she uses and, with her, I enjoyed one of the most professional and relaxing facials I’ve ever had.
Massage therapist and nail technician Fortunate Mngoma is one of those people who simply has ‘magic hands’ that leave you feeling completely pampered and relaxed from beginning to end.
A big draw card for the salon, and certainly something worth trying is the Venus Freeze treatments on offer. The non-invasive technique uses radio frequency and pulsed electro-magnetic fields to achieve a number of results, including reduced cellulite, skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and body contouring.
Other treatments on offer include medical chemical peels, micro needling, customised facials, waxing, reflexology, massages, spray tans and manicures and pedicures in one of the most beautiful settings, overlooking natural forest vegetation and the ocean. Really?
Could you get anything more relaxing?
Designed by well-known interior designer Amy Mitchell, the décor inside the spa is another one of its biggest draw cards. Trendy, tasteful and contemporary, the upmarket finishes blend beautifully with the picturesque surroundings.
A visit to Fraiche is about more than just having a facial or getting pretty toes…it really is a little piece of paradise tucked away in the centre of Ballito, and well worth a visit. Believe me, you’ll want to go back.
