Review: Mo’s Noodles

Review: Mo’s Noodles

Imagine our excitement when the Get It team were invited to the trendy Mo’s Noodles at Ballito Lifestyle Centre’s Eat Street to enjoy a team lunch.

Although they are most famous for their exceptionally tasty noodles, Mo’s Noodles (sister restaurant to the popular Umhlanga branch) is more than just a noodle bar. Their extensive Thai-based menu offers a wide range of starters, salads, soups, main courses and curries . . . which meant we were spoilt for choice.

Myself and our sales rep Justine decided to ‘create our own combo’ from the menu by combing two dishes (apparently the combo we chose is one of the most popular dishes – even though it’s not officially on the menu!). We had Mo’s famous Calamari Tentacles in a sweet chilli glaze (hands down the best calamari in the North, in my opinion) plated next to a portion of the delicious Lentil and Feta Salad, which has the most delicious mint and lemon dressing . . . lick-your-plate-clean kind of good!

Our editor Leah went for the spicy Coconut and Lime Prawn Soup, fitting for the cold Winter days we have been experiencing. This broth-style soup has a spicy zing to it so if you enjoy spicy food, this soup is for you! Packed with flavour and a generous amount of prawns and chunks of vegetables, this hearty dish is a must try and is available in a starter or main portion – and is surprisingly filling for a soup.

Our graphic designer Nicole chose Mo’s signature Sesame Peanut Chicken and Coconut Noodles. If you love peanuts, you will enjoy the flavoursome combination of ingredients in this dish. Lisa, who works on sales support, tucked into a generous helping of the chicken and prawn pan fried noodles, which comes highly recommended from her too.

Despite the generous portions, we decided we had to squeeze in Mo’s homemade ice-cream, which is available in a variety of delicious flavours including Nutella, marshmallow and cashew nut to name a few. This creamy delight is melt-in-your-mouth good and can be accompanied by their homemade chocolate biscuits which are made freshly in store.

Not only was the food on point, but we loved the attentive service coupled the relaxed outdoor vibe Mo’s Noodles has to offer. I highly recommend this gem if you are looking for a lunch spot with your girlfriends or a date night with your partner!
